Welcome to my portfolio!
I’m Roosa, a software developer with a fondness for PHP and a knack for crafting custom plugins and themes for WordPress and WooCommerce. In addition to these core skills, I’m well-versed in modern web developer tools and have a firm grasp of server and hosting management.
Currently, I work on the data and web team at Lemonsoft, where I’m developing and implementing e-commerce solutions, including the integration of WooCommerce and Lemonsoft ERP. When I’m not working wonders at Lemonsoft, I’m a freelance software developer, spreading my web development love to any project that needs a little extra spark.
Work and skills
I work at Lemonsoft, where I’m part of the data and web team, focusing on e-commerce solutions and developing an integration plugin for WooCommerce and Lemonsoft ERP. My work includes launching an e-commerce website, from design to development, and communicating with clients and teams. I have experience developing B2B webshops and have continuously worked on improving my skills through hobby projects and volunteering.
My technical skills include PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, SCSS, and SQL. I am familiar with tools like PHPStorm, HeidiSQL, and Siteground, to name a few, and I have experience with Vue and React in hobby projects. I am also skilled in teamwork and organization, having participated in multiple non-profit organizations and student councils.
IT and I
I started as a math major in 2017 but soon realized that my true calling was computer science. In 2018, I switched majors and never looked back. After earning my Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science and minors in mathematics and general studies, I am working on my Master’s degree in computer engineering at the University of Turku. My major is computer engineering, and my minor is Finnish work-life and work well-being.
In my Computer Science (CS) student organization board days at Asteriski ry, I was the culture events organizer in my first year, the events organizer in my second year, and the business coordinator in charge of sponsors in my third year. In my last year as a part of the CS student organization board, I also acted as the secretary of the Finnish computer science students organization TiTOL ry.
Currently, I volunteer as the person in charge of the CS student organizations’ websites and servers, coordinating a small team for it.
Hobbies and freetime
I like to stay active and explore my interests in my free time. I volunteer as a website maintainer and peer-support group organizer for young adults in a local non-profit, Aisti ry, which is an organization that raises awareness for ADHD and autism. When I need a break from my busy schedule, I enjoy spending time with my two feline coworkers, playing games of padel and badminton, and trying my hand at fencing.
I am passionate about technology and always strive to stay up-to-date with the latest web development tools and trends. I find great joy in discovering unique and creative web designs that break away from the norm. When I’m not tinkering with technology, I love indulging in board games, arts and crafts, and visiting museums and cultural attractions. I especially enjoy quirky museums that showcase the unusual and unexpected.
In addition to my love for all things creative, I am interested in politics and Finnish work-life and work well-being. I enjoy engaging in meaningful discussions about these topics and finding ways to contribute to my community. I believe in the free showcasing of colour, personality, and self-expression, and I try to bring that into everything I do.
